ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Camille Vegan Bags is a Parisian label of vegan leather goods certified Peta-Approved, guaranteed without any animal material. Raphaël and Camille, the founders, promote slow fashion and imagine each piece according to their inspirations, for timeless and qualitative collections. The brand advocates sustainable fashion through quality pieces. The materials are eco-responsible and innovative, the manufacturing is 100% French, no animal material is used and the founding duo does everything to adopt the best eco-responsible gestures.

Composition

Apple Skin

Apple Skin (also called “apple leather”) is an environmentally friendly material made from waste from the food industry. A real alternative to animal leather, Apple Skin is made from a mixture of recycled apple waste and polyester.

Recycled material

Recycled materials are eco-responsible and help promote the circular economy. They are often made from pre- or post-consumer waste. Using recycled components to make new products significantly reduces the environmental impact of the production process, since no new material is created. Among the most common recycled materials, we find recycled cotton, recycled polyester, recycled wool, or recycled nylon. We can also recycle metals for jewelry, such as gold or silver.
Production

MANUFACTURERS

Craft workshop
Paris, France

All Camille brand products are designed and manufactured in Paris. The founders chose a small family workshop located in the Sentier, a district historically known for its textile activity. Also based in Paris, the founders chose to manufacture locally in order to be at the heart of the production process and to limit the carbon footprint of each product by avoiding the transport of goods from one city to another. Camille and Raphaël are in daily contact with their workshop, which they visit regularly to ensure the quality of the products produced. The craftsmen work in good conditions and the workshop is subject to French regulations.

Certifications

PETA Approved Vegan (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)

PETA is a non-profit association committed to the protection of all animals. When a product is PETA certified, it means that it does not contain any animal material or any derivative of animal product. It is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

OEKO-TEX®

The OEKO-TEX® label certifies the non-toxicity of textiles and dyes, and the total absence of substances harmful to health. Also guarantees compliance with safety standards throughout the production process.
Commitments
  • ico-eco-responsible
All Camille brand products are entirely handmade, made in an artisanal way in Paris. Undeniably committed to the environment, Camille reduces the use of plastic and favors recycled paper for her packaging. The brand has made the choice of responsible consumption fashion and offers timeless pieces, designed far from the dictates of fashion and trends. To avoid waste, the productions are made in small series throughout the year.
  • ico-vegan
Camille creations are 100% vegan and cruelty free, certified PETA Approved Vegan. The brand uses several innovative and sustainable materials such as Piñatex (vegetable leather made from anans) and Apple Skin (vegetable leather made from apples) as well as synthetic fibers and Okeo-Tex certified jacquards (certified non- toxicity of textiles and dyes, and the total absence of harmful substances).
  • ico-local-manufacturing
Since its creation in 2016, Camille has been enhancing the know-how of French artisans. All of the brand's products are made in limited series in a family workshop in Paris, near the founders, where each piece is carefully handcrafted in small series.
  • ico-recycle
For some products, the Camille brand replaces animal leather with ecological materials made from waste from the food industry. For example, we find Pinatex and apple leather, also called "Apple Skin". The first is a plant material made from fibers of pineapple leaves. The second is made from a mixture of recycled apple waste and polyester. Some linings also contain recycled polyester.
