ABOUT THE DESIGNER

In 2018, Nicolas realized that it is difficult to find beautiful, quality men's underwear at a reasonable price. He then embarked on the entrepreneurial adventure and created Pétrone with one single ambition: to offer men excellent underwear, both elegant, resistant, durable, designed in noble materials and with quality finishes. Sobriety, simplicity and refinement characterize Pétrone products which have a timeless character, made to last without going out of fashion. Pétrone is part of an ethical fashion approach. Each piece is produced in Portugal and has the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label (certifies the non-toxicity of textiles and dyes, and the total absence of harmful substances). In addition, all the spinners are in Europe, mainly in Portugal, Italy and Austria.

Composition

47% modal

Modal is a type of viscose, made from the spinning of cellulose, an organic substance, from beech wood. Compared with viscose, modal is more resistant, absorbs more moisture and dries quickly.

47% Cotton Pima

Pima cotton is a special type of cotton, it is distinguished from others by its length and the resistance of its fibers, and its production is respectful of the environment. Also called South American silk, it is very fine and its fibers are silky and light.

6% Elastane

Elastane is a synthetic material derived from petroleum, which is often found in clothes and which gives them their elasticity. Spandex is 100% elastic and stretchable up to 700%.

MANUFACTURERS

Portugal

All Pétrone pieces are made in a workshop located in Portugal, with more than 35 years of know-how. Victim of relocations in Asia in the 2000s, this workshop has grown from 200 to 35 employees. By choosing it, Pétrone is helping to maintain jobs and the survival of this European company. Governed by the Portuguese Labor Code, this workshop offers fair compensation to all of its employees, and also respects the fundamentals of the International Labor Organization (ILO). The founders of Pétrone are in regular contact with them and visit them several times a year in order to maintain a close relationship.

Certifications

OEKO-TEX®

The OEKO-TEX® label certifies the non-toxicity of textiles and dyes, and the total absence of substances harmful to health. Also guarantees compliance with safety standards throughout the production process.
