HANA KIMONO JACKET

Bubble mood

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Parisian expatriate in Asia, Olivia Gurdjian worked for several years in fashion before creating her own brand. She then moved to Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand, to launch Bubble Mood, a label that reinvents the kimono, an iconic piece of Asian culture. In a more modern version, it comes in a nomadic and solar wardrobe, in cuts that are both aerial and symmetrical. Olivia advocates a fashion at the antipodes of fast-fashion and places quality and respect for artisans at the heart of her brand. Promote their know-how, choose to work with natural materials that they know how to weave, favor the handmade and design at the rhythm of the human. This is the philosophy of the designer who plays with the codes of international fashion without borders.

Composition

100% cotton satin

Cotton is a very popular vegetable fiber in the textile industry because it is inexpensive. Cotton fibers are hypoallergenic, have good air permeability and have good absorbency. However, growing conventional cotton requires a lot of water consumption. As far as possible, we recommend switching to organic cotton.
Production

MANUFACTURERS

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Bubble Mood is a brand based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where its creator, Olivia Gurdjian has lived for several years. All the materials come from Thailand and the confection is made in Chiang Mai in workshops on a human scale by local artisans and dressmakers. The prints are made in Bangkok. This short-circuit production process, with local products, craftsmen and know-how, considerably reduces the environmental impact and the brand's carbon footprint. Olivia and her workshops have a close relationship; they are in daily contact and see each other regularly. Dressmakers and craftspeople work in good conditions with normal hours, receive fair remuneration, and enjoy days off and rest.
